Leur premier don apr\u00e8s leurs gains a \u00e9t\u00e9 fait en hommage aux soins que leur \u00e9pouse, m\u00e8re et grand-m\u00e8re Janice Crist, aujourd'hui d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9e, a re\u00e7us au Tom Baker Cancer Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Avec ses filles Nicky et Mandy, ses fils Dallas et Robbie, leurs conjoints et leurs enfants, Crist et sa famille ont fait don de millions \u00e0 l'Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation depuis 2003 pour les soins n\u00e9onatals, ainsi que pour un nouveau centre de sant\u00e9 mentale pour les enfants et les adolescents. Les Crist ont \u00e9galement soutenu le projet Tomorrow, la plus grande \u00e9tude de recherche sur la sant\u00e9 jamais entreprise au Canada, qui vise \u00e0 mieux comprendre les causes du cancer afin de pouvoir le pr\u00e9venir \u00e0 l'avenir. Ils ont \u00e9galement soutenu de nombreuses autres organisations locales, notamment les Grands Fr\u00e8res et Grandes S\u0153urs, la Children's Cottage Society, le Calgary Women's Emergency Shelter, le Ronald McDonald House et le zoo de Calgary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chacun des enfants de M. Crist dispose d'un budget annuel pour faire des dons aux organisations caritatives de son choix. Il est important d'enseigner aux g\u00e9n\u00e9rations futures la valeur de la g\u00e9n\u00e9rosit\u00e9, explique M. Crist, qui a grandi dans une famille de sept personnes dans une maison de 800 pieds carr\u00e9s \u00e0 Drumheller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNous n'avons jamais manqu\u00e9 de nourriture sur la table, mais nous n'avions rien non plus\u201d, d\u00e9clare M. Crist, qui a commenc\u00e9 sa carri\u00e8re en 1970 comme chauffeur de camion pour une entreprise de vente d'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 en gros, avant de gravir les \u00e9chelons jusqu'\u00e0 en devenir le pr\u00e9sident-directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAvant de gagner la loterie, j'avais l'intention de cr\u00e9er une fondation familiale \u00e0 petite \u00e9chelle, car pendant ma carri\u00e8re, j'ai bien r\u00e9ussi et j'ai fini par avoir un peu plus d'argent que je ne l'avais pr\u00e9vu. Je pensais apprendre \u00e0 mes enfants et petits-enfants \u00e0 rendre service, mais le fait d'avoir gagn\u00e9 la loterie m'a permis d'atteindre un tout autre niveau.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNotre objectif est de poursuivre notre activit\u00e9 philanthropique familiale jusqu'aux prochaines g\u00e9n\u00e9rations de la famille Crist, qui ne cesse de
